AFine Artist & Printmaker Hello, my name is Sue Maud. I am an artist based at St. Owen's Cross, just outside Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire. Here is a short introduction to me ...
My paintings and prints deal with erosion and power, which are often found through experiences with the sea and its many moods, not necessarily from land, but first hand out at sea, sailing the ocean. My work tries to create the feeling of 'being' and to allow the viewer to experience the elements, strength, terrifying beauty and awesome might of the sea, in conjunction with our own frailty. I see the sea, combined with people and objects, often out of context in the environment, as a full range of human emotions, each moment reflected in tension, acute sensation, and a release of energy and tranquillity.
I work from a studio/gallery at St. Owen's Cross and you are most welcome to visit to see me at work or look at my work. All visits are by appointment only, so please give me a call. However, I am also looking at opening the studio on Friday mornings from 11th December onwards between 10am & 1pm... Appoints will not be necessary for Friday mornings.
